Moving on and off Siesta Key
Island moves take more planning than most, so Patrick, our co-owner, walks the unit in person before we set a date. The truck and crew drive up from Fort Myers.
The route onto the key
An island move starts with the route. Give us your building name and the nearest cross street, and we pick the bridge that suits your end of the key. We also leave slack in the schedule for bridge traffic. That keeps a slow crossing from eating into the elevator window your building gave you, and it means the crew arrives at the right loading door the first time.
Your building's move rules
Most Siesta Key condo buildings set their own move rules. Call your manager before you book a date. Ask if the service elevator has to be reserved, which hours movers can work, and what paperwork the building wants from the moving company. Send us that list and we will get the building what it asks for before moving day.
Where the truck parks
Plan to load at your own building, not at the beach. Sarasota County posts the Siesta Beach parking hours, and some beach accesses have no parking at all, so ask your manager which space a moving truck may use, then tell Patrick at the walkthrough so the crew knows exactly where to pull in.
Golf carts and glass tables
Island homes tend to hold glass tops, art and outdoor furniture. The crew pads and shrink wraps each piece before it leaves the room, and white glove moving is there for the items you worry about most. A golf cart can ride on the truck with your furniture. On its own, a car carrier usually costs less, so we move golf carts as part of a household move.
Packing out after a storm
When a hurricane damages a unit, the contents have to come out while it is repaired. We pack the rooms, store everything for a while, and bring it back when the unit is ready. This work gets busy after a storm, so call once your contractor gives you a timeline. Our restoration pack-outs page lays out the steps, or call (239) 415-6683.
