Restoration pack-outs: out, stored and back

When a house needs repairs, the contents have to go somewhere. We pack them out, store them while the work happens and bring everything back when the rooms are ready.

Busy after hurricanes

Pack-out work picks up every time a hurricane comes through. When a home has water or wind damage and the floors, walls or cabinets have to come out, the restoration company needs the rooms empty first. That's where we come in. Our part is the contents: furniture, boxes and everything in the closets. The restoration company handles the building. If your contractor has given you a start date, tell us when you call.

Storage and the move back

The job has two halves. First we pack out the house and take the contents into storage while the repairs run. When the house is ready, we bring it all back and put the furniture where it goes. Before you set a return date, ask the contractor whether the floors are finished and the doorways are clear. Furniture that comes back too early just gets moved twice.

Construction jobs and whole neighborhoods

The same work applies to construction. During the Chinese drywall jobs, we moved the furniture out of houses across whole neighborhoods, then moved it back in once the new drywall was up. A project like that means a lot of homes on a schedule. If you're a contractor with several houses to clear, tell us how many there are and the order the work will go in.

What to have ready when you call

Have the address, the project dates you know so far, and the contractor's name. Point out anything that needs extra care, such as antiques, a grandfather clock or a piano, so it's in the plan from the start. Justin and Patrick do every estimate themselves, pack-outs included. Our number is (239) 415-6683.
