Packing and unpacking

Our crew packs the house before the truck is loaded and unpacks at the new place. You can give us every room or only the ones you don't want to face.

Why we pack for most customers

Most of our customers are better off letting us do the packing. Many people moving in Southwest Florida are older, and a week of bending, lifting and taping is hard on anyone. It also takes longer than people expect. Full packs and unpacks are some of the jobs we're asked for most, and you can add them at the walkthrough along with the move.

The materials we use

The crew covers furniture in quilted pads and seals it in shrink wrap for the ride. Hanging clothes go into wardrobe boxes. Photos, documents and keepsakes are wrapped in acid-free paper. Dishes, glassware and antiques are packed tight so nothing moves around inside the box. If one item worries you, show it to the owner at the estimate.

Unpacking at the other end

Decide how much unpacking you want and say so at the estimate. Some people only want boxes set in the right rooms. Others want the kitchen put away and the closets filled. On senior moves we go further and set up the bedroom, lamps and TV before leaving; our senior moves page lists what that includes.

Overseas containers and storm repairs

Some packing jobs aren't a normal move. We pack household goods for overseas containers. After hurricanes we also pack out homes that need repairs, store the contents for a while and bring them back once the work is finished. That is our restoration pack-out service. Call (239) 415-6683 and Justin or Patrick will look at what needs packing.

Questions about packing

Can I pack some rooms myself?

Yes. Point out which rooms you'll pack and which are ours during the walkthrough, and the price is set on that basis.

Is unpacking included?

Only if you ask for it. Mention unpacking at the estimate so it's part of the plan and the price.

Can you pack antiques and grandfather clocks?

Yes. Antiques, old wood furniture and grandfather clocks are regular work for us.
